The Photographer's Eye by Michael Freeman is a must read for all OCA students and anyone at any level who wants to learn more or receive a refresher on composition and design for digital photography.
A lot of the contents has been used to create the OCA photography courses from level one all the way to level three so for me it has acted as a superb refresher course. Reading through so much that has been learnned over a period of years acts as a real confidence booster. When all that knowledge is brought back to the present time it can help greatly in seeing the image before it's transfered onto the camera sensor.
When I flicked through the contents page I thought; why wasn't this book recommended reading for the first course, but then went onto realise it's a far greater friend after all the hard work of the course projects and assignments are completed.
To be honest there is not so much in this book that is not covered in the OCA photography courses but reading the book is still a refreshing experience and will act as my main reference guide for the work so far completed.
