The following set of images have been taken in Sukhothai History Park, Thailand. This park is a photographer's dream. Most of the ancient monuments are 500 years old and photographs are allowed to be taken all around the park. It can take more than one day to see the whole park so there are always angles to be found that have never before been photographed. If time is limited bicycles can be hired and even cars can be driven around to the main monuments.
I've tried to show in the following images several different aspects of the park by photographing throughout the day and using various lenses and techniques.
After a hard day's work, one can relax in the park with a cold drink and watch a traditional dance show. I skipped the dance show to carry on with some night shots.
From the images below I have given the impression of a calm and peaceful place, however patience is required as there are a lot of other people wanting to take snap shots all around. People walking into your scene with a bright coloured umbrella is sometimes unavoidable. I've avoided this as much as possible by being active early in the morning at later in the day when most of the bus groups have either not yet arrived or already departed.
