Project 5

These images are from a street demonstration in Bangkok. The protesters are demonstrating for true democracy, however many believe they are paid to turn out and are actually there to put pressure on the government to step down and allow the return of Taksin, the last elected PM of Thailand, who is currently on the run against a prison sentence for corruption.

In this set of images I've selected only those that show an impartial view of the demonstration. I've avoided images of posters, emotions on peoples faces, both demonstrators and onlookers, and several images of the fearsome looking red guards (actually dressed in black).

This traffic policemen looks completely dispossessed despite being surrounded by tens of thousands of highly energized demonstrators.

The head of the demonstration is led by red shirts on motorbikes.

The crowd stretches for as far as the eye can see.

A reporter makes an impartial broadcast.
